Makes: 12 Bars
½ lb (32) caramels5 T evaporated milk or light cream
1 cup flour
1 cup quick oats
¾ cup brown sugar
½ t baking soda
¼ t salt
¾ cup melted butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt the caramels & evaporated milk together and let cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine the flour, oats, sugar, baking soda, salt, and butter.
Press half of the crust mixture into a 7x11 pan. Bake for10 minutes.
Remove from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Spread caramel mixture on
top and then sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake 15-20 minutes longer.
Chill 1-2 hours.
